About Us

Who We Are

Radical Outreach is a U.S.-based 501(c)(3) Christian nonprofit dedicated to serving persecuted believers and vulnerable communities across Asia and Africa. We exist to bring the hope, compassion, and transforming love of Jesus Christ to families facing persecution, poverty, injustice, and crisis.

Our work combines spiritual encouragement, practical support, and sustainable community development, ensuring that families not only survive hardship—but find dignity, stability, and long-term hope.

We believe that every person is created in the image of God and deserves the opportunity to flourish, grow, and live free from oppression.

Our Mission

To encourage, equip, and empower persecuted believers and suffering communities—helping them grow in faith, strength, and sustainable living, all for the glory of God.

Rooted in Christ and driven by compassion, our mission is expressed through:

  • Supporting the persecuted Church

  • Rescuing families from bonded labor

  • Providing humanitarian relief

  • Empowering communities through skills, education, and economic development

  • Sharing the life-transforming hope of Jesus

Our Vision

A world where persecuted believers stand strengthened in their faith…

Where vulnerable women and children are protected and empowered…

Where families emerge from poverty into sustainable, dignity-filled lives…

And where the love of Jesus is demonstrated in word and action to every community we serve.

Our Core Values

Christ-Centeredness

Everything we do flows from our relationship with Jesus Christ. We serve because He first served us.

Compassion

We seek to love others as Christ loves us—meeting people with dignity, empathy, and genuine care.

Integrity

We steward resources with honesty, transparency, and accountability.

Courage

We stand boldly with persecuted believers and vulnerable communities, even in difficult or dangerous environments.

Empowerment

We believe in equipping individuals and families with skills, education, and opportunities that lead to long-lasting transformation.

Partnership

We work hand-in-hand with local pastors, ministries, and community leaders who understand the needs of their people best.

Our Story

How we Came About

Radical Outreach was born from a calling God placed on the heart of Ruth Detweiler—a calling shaped by surrender, compassion, and deep love for persecuted believers.

After giving her life fully to Jesus Christ, Ruth began learning about Christians who endured imprisonment, violence, and discrimination simply because of their faith. Their courage stirred something powerful within her: a desire to support them and stand with them no matter the cost.

Over time, this desire grew into a ministry vision—one that God made possible through prayer, obedience, and faithful partnership with Ruth’s husband, David, a gifted entrepreneur. Together, they have built a legacy of faith in over 40 years of marriage, with five children, eleven grandchildren, and now a global ministry reaching across continents.

Today, Ruth continues to serve as a spiritual mother to many. Her heart is to strengthen and encourage those who walk faithfully with Christ under persecution and hardship. Radical Outreach is the fruit of that calling.
